Oil lamp in sand with satin black (various colours)
This is a two-part oil lamp made from medium-textured stoneware clay that fires to a sand colour. The top parts inside is glazed in satin black, with various other colour options available. The exterior is left unglazed, highlighting the exposed clay.
The shape of the oil lamp is inspired by stacked stones. The bottom part is designed to hold a tea light candle, with a front opening and small holes in the back to ensure enough airflow for the candle. The top part sits nicely on the base and is just big enough to hold burnable materials such as frankincense, sage, or essential oils, making it fairly versatile. The glazed inside of the top bowl makes it easy to clean burned residues.
