Porcelain egg cup holder hand painted No. 2
Part of my more playful porcelain range, these egg cup holders are pinched rather than thrown and are hand-painted using different brush sizes and colours to achieve an individual and intuitive mix of abstract forms for each piece. The painting can be influenced by things that inspire me at the time or my mood, so no two pieces will look the same.
The inside, and sometimes part of the exterior, of the pot is decorated and then sealed inside only with a clear, shiny transparent glaze. This preserves the beautiful porcelain white, makes the colours really pop, and also highlights the original matte and buttery smooth porcelain look and feel.
The shape is simple, small, and organic. Together with the abstract, colourful decoration, this piece makes a joyful addition to anyone's breakfast table—especially in combination with the tiny salt shakers created to give these little guys company.
